Advanced Vitality Advisor LLC ("we", "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile application, AVA — Advanced Vitality Advisor (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: such as your email address when you create an account. Guest use is also available and does not require an account.
• Health & Fitness Data: if you connect Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), we read your step count and active-energy (calorie burn) data, only with your explicit permission. This is read-only; AVA does not write data back to those services. You can revoke access anytime in your device settings.
• Photos & Camera: if you use AI food scanning, the photo you take or select is sent to OpenAI to identify food and estimate nutrition. Photos are not stored on our servers beyond what is needed to process that request.
• User Content: recipes, reviews, comments, and progress photos you choose to upload or share.
• Purchase Information: subscription and purchase history, processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and RevenueCat, so we can unlock the features you have paid for.
• Usage Data: information about how you use the App, including app interactions, features used, and session duration.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data, so we can find and fix bugs.
• Device Information: such as device type, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, IP address, and mobile network information.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide, operate, and improve the App and our services.
• Personalize your experience, including adjusting calorie targets using health data if you have connected it.
• Process subscriptions and purchases.
• Communicate with you about updates, offers, or support.
• Analyze usage trends and diagnose crashes to improve functionality and performance.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your health data for advertising or share it with data brokers. We share data with the following third parties, only as needed to provide the features you use:

• OpenAI: if you use AI food scanning, AI recipe generation, or the AI coach, the photo, description, or message you submit is sent to OpenAI to generate a response.
• Instacart: if you order groceries through the App, your ingredient list is sent to Instacart to generate your shopping list and checkout link. Instacart handles your order, payment, and delivery under its own privacy policy.
• Nutritionix, TheMealDB & Open Food Facts: food and restaurant names you search are sent to these nutrition databases. No personal or account information is shared with them.
• Firebase (Google): account authentication, cloud storage of community recipes and reviews, push notifications, and app analytics.
• RevenueCat: processes and validates subscription purchases.
• Sentry: receives crash reports and performance diagnostics.
• Legal authorities if required to comply with law or protect our rights.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information as long as necessary to provide the App's services or as required by law. You can delete your account at any time inside the App (Profile → Delete account), or without the App by following the steps at our account deletion page. Deleting your account removes your login and the community recipes you authored.

5. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Your Choices

• Access, update, or delete your information by contacting us.
• Opt out of marketing communications.
• Disable permissions (for example camera, notifications, or health access) in your device settings.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it as quickly as possible. If you believe we may have collected information from or about a child under 13, please contact us below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The updated version will be posted here with a new "Last Updated" date.
